Eggstravaganza

Tristen's 1st Easter egg hunt this year. Of course there will be many more by the time Easter is actually here! On Saturday T, my parents and I joined the festivities at our church...Capstone. Matt was on shift both days this weekend...we sure did miss him!

Yes...that is a cell phone on the side of his pants. My dad gave him his Blackberry when he got his iPhone. So now he wears it every where we go. He asked me if I would get him service on it! Ha ha...that would be a big No.

I have to say T can really pull the pink shirt off. What a handsome Easter bunny I have. This was the oh mom are you really gonna take my picture look.

Auntie Amanda with the lovely Anna Joy! This is my dear friend Sarah's little girl...isn't she just precious! She is wearing the dress I made for her birthday.

And as my right as a parent I have to brag on T for just a minute. After he finished hunting eggs we saw a little girl crying. She didn't get any eggs so my sweet little T gave her all of his pink and purple eggs!!!! What a little darling! It's moments like these that let you know your doing something right as a parent.

Formal Introduction

Matt and I had our 1st consult with our in vitro doctor...Dr.K. It has been over 3 weeks since our visit but I'm just getting a chance to sit down and tell you all about it!

It was a lovely visit! Matt and I are very excited to have Dr.K on our baby making team! Up untill this point Matt hasn't been very excited about this whole process for many reasons. So before our million dollar consult I prayed for several things....that Matt would hit it off and feel comfortable with Dr.K...that I would feel at peace with the whole process and once we had our consult Matt and I would be on the same page.

Thank you Jesus!!!! All 3 prayers answered!

There are so many things that really sealed the deal with Dr.K:

-his wife had in vitro with both of their kids...he actually did the implantation! This means he actually knows where were coming from and can emotionally relate to us.

-he is very personable....you feel as if your his only patient...not a number.

-he was very compassionate about my past history and our journey to expand our family. He sat down and wanted to get to know us on a personal level.

-he is hysterical..one of the reasons Matt and he hit it off.
We were in the office for close to 3 hours after it was all said and done. We waited for about 45 Minutes in a consult room for Dr.K. So as we waited we couldn't help but to notice all the pictures of babies all over the room...babies that he helped conceive. This was good and bad at the same time. Good....well because he has helped so many families get their dream. And he is very successful at what he does. Bad....well it was giving Matt a little anxiety. Why anxiety?!?! Well because out of all those babies there were 17 sets of twins, 1 set of triplets and to top it all off a set of quads!!! The minute he saw those quads he said "I don't think this is a good idea...we should probably go now!" Ha ha! After our consult with Dr.K he was more at ease about the whole process.
Wow!!! It is a very extensive process. So much more than I ever thought. He walked us through it step by step and explained everything in detail. So another wards we got a crash course in
In -Vito for a small fee of $400! Absolutly worth it!! He also did a sonogram to check my uterus, overies, and the amount of eggs I have. I got a A+...lots of eggs.
After the sonogram we went back to the consult room. He then went over his plan for us. To start off he wants to run several test...11 to be exact. Since I've had 3 miscarriages outside of my 2 tubal's .These test are for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss. These are all test that can be done from blood work. It will help determine if there is any issues that are causing me to miscarry. They are way to in depth for me to go into. If a issue arises...which I pray it doesn't then I'll be more specific as to what it is. Most of these issues are fairly easy to fix with some type of medicine or procedure.
I love that he is so proactive. As he said himself..he doesn't want to go through the whole in-vitro process and have me miscarry. And I totally agree. He did say if all my test come back normal for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss that we have a 50/50 chance of getting twins!!! Oh the more the better!
I left his office with a renewed sense of hope. I know this is going to happen for our family and I couldn't be more excited. Of course there are pieces of the puzzle that still need to be put in place. Yes...the cost is a big price but much less than what we were expecting. Originally we were thinking closer to $20,000.00. It turns out it will be closer to $12,000 at the most $15,000. At this point those are things I just can't worry about! I'm giving that all over to God to handle...he is much better at it than I am. I know he has great plans for me! He is already blessing me with so much business that Sugar Plum is busting at the seams.
So my next and first step is to schedule my bloodwork. Which I have already done. I'll update you on that tomorrow. For now I'm going to catch up on some rest. The last few days I've had to get up and out of the house by 8am....yea I'm not a fan at all!

Busy as a Bee

Oh my have I been busy lately! SugarPlum is busting at the "seams" no pun intended. I have been spending my days and most nights sewing, sewing and sewing! I finally finished my first custom order for crib bedding. I have to say it is absoultly stunning. I can't wait to see it on the crib. This is a sneak peek of the bumper sitting on the floor of my sewing room...it doesn't do it justice.

Lots of new post coming soon! Some of the things that have kept me away from the blogging world:Festival of Tables 2010...Spring Break...1st In Vitro Appointment...and just life itself!

A few more of the custom orders I've done in the past week.
