It's my life...I love it!

Do you hear that?!?! It is complete silence! Ahhhhhh...In my house this is rare.
After a productive day I'm snug in bed, Mac in lap, glass of wine on bed side table, my sleeping angel next to me and Bentley by my side. The only thing missing is the hubs who is at work saving the world!

Of course there are lots of other things I could be doing right now. Like conquering what looks like Mount Everest in my laundry room. Picking up the house. At this point you would never know my cleaning fairy was here on Thursday! As there is skull rain boots in my bathroom floor as we speak...sitting next to today's dirty clothes and toothpaste on the counter. Not to worry that will all still be there waiting on me tomorrow.

Oh about T sleeping with me...yes he does. And yes I know he is 7...so what. This only gets to take place when Matt is on shift. Yep...that's every 3 days. For now he looks forward to it and soon enough he"ll be to cool for that. So I'm savoring every moment that I can.

Out of the mouth of T...this morning at breakfast.
Mom...you hooked me up!
All it takes is a little butter on his Cinnamon streusel muffin and I'm his Super hero.
More on Super hero's in a bit.

I spent the majority of my day sewing with my Gram. I love that I can just pick my project up...walk thru the back fence and spend the day sewing with Gram. Not to mention I had homemade soup for lunch...oh so yummy.

The crib bedding I'm working on is almost finished...I can see the finish line.
Almost there.
My client's baby was born 3 weeks early...Welcome Baby Memphis !!!
I so love that name!
No worries...Memphis will be sleeping in his rocking round crib in no time.
I can't wait to share picture's of the finished product. Just envision...guitars in alvacodo green, charcoal grey, turquoise and white. It's out of this world cute!

I was thrilled beyond words to hear that T got A's on both his spelling and phonics test today.
As I promised we headed to Main Event for some bowling right after school. We had a blast with Suz, Hoyt and Hannah. Awesome deal...$5 bowling per person unlimited bowling and happy hour appetizer specials. It was a hit! We already scheduled another play date there next week.

Whew...if that wasn't enough in one day.
We got home in just enough time for T to take a quick shower and throw on his PJ's.
I made his dinner to go.
Shoved Benadyrl down his throat. I've administered enough tylenol and benadyrl in the last 5 days to be a drug dealer.
Oh I must have failed to mention T had the Flu last week...very mild but still the Flu.

Off to the school for a FOT meeting. This time of year gets crazy busy a good crazy.
T did his homework during our meeting and was fast asleep before we pulled in the drive way.

I'll post pictures and ideas tomorrow on what I have in store for FOT this year.
Think Super hero's ......

Well my time is expiring as my eyes are getting really heavy.

Off to bed I ago. Another day like today awaits me tomorrow. Just as busy but different agenda.

It's my life...I love it!

Let the cup over flow...

Yes, I drink wine and read my bible! Just not at the same time.

I had a glass of wine in bed the night before. When I woke up the next morning I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this!

Dinner is served

So if you love to cook like I do you"ll love this recipe!
I love cooking yummy dinner's for my family.
I wish gourmet was more on my menu but seriously who has that kind of time?!
Not this SAHM.
This taste gourmet but literally takes 30 mins!
That is exactly what my kitchen is screaming!
So enjoy.

Italian Hunter's Soup
I pkg. Italian sausage (12-16oz)
1/2 cup red wine
1 jar Cookwell & Co. Two-step Cacciatore Sauce
1 1/2 cup chicken stock
1/2 cup cream
1 can great northern beans, drained
1 small pkg. baby spinach
2 TBS Adam's reserve Egyptian basil

Brown sausage well, breaking up with a spoon. Add wine to deglaze. Allow wine to reduce down to about 2-3 TBS. Add sauce and basil and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Add stock, beans and cream. Allow to return to simmer. Remove from heat and add spinach.

I served it with HEB's Italian Focaccia bread.
You get it in the bakery where it is made fresh everyday!
I got all the ingredients at HEB too!

Enjoy!

Dear Target,

I just wanted to express my love for you. I know we have had a love affair going for quite sometime. There are so many things I love about you! Something about that red target sign that brings a smile to my face. It may be that cherry red shopping I get to push around. Or that every store has a Starbucks. That when My Charming Family is sick your pharmacy is the one to fill our prescription. That everyone you employ has always been kind, offer to help me and some even know my name. Your Cherokee brand tee's are perfect for my boutique. The dollar section always brings a smile to T's face and has filled many party favor bags. You have groceries! I love that you can be my refuge. On days when I feel like the world is overtaking me. After a stroll down your isles I feel like I can conquer anything. If I'm in a wardrobe bind I can always count on you to help a sister out. I can get a gift for a wedding shower, birthday and baby shower all in one stop! Okay so maybe not a baby shower because I pretty much have that under control but you get what I'm saying here! After a quick trip to visit you yesterday I just felt that I needed to tell you how much I love you!

I know my husband isn't always as thrilled about you. I know you can do some serious damage to our checkbook. When I say I'm going to visit you for a few minutes it always turns into an hour. So please don't hold that against him as he is just a little selfish with me. Plus he's the one who makes the money so I can come visit so often!

XOXO
-Amanda

Out of the mouth of Tristen

So over the last few days my little offspring has been cracking me up!

Here are just a few of the things he said that I can remember.

T-"Mom, when you grow up and get married do the boys pick the girls or do the girls pick the boys?"
Me- "Well traditionally the boys ask the girls,"
T- "YES! I already know who I'm gonna marry."
Me- "Oh you do? Well who is it?"
T- "Mom, I can't tell you. You'll just have to wait till I grow up to see."

Well I guess I'll get back to you in about 20 years and let you know the outcome! Haha

We went to Cook's today to get T's stitches out when this conversation took place.
I'll tell you about that in a second!
Our nurse was a male firefighter that works in the ER.

N- "Hey buddy hop on up here and lets get those stitches out."
T- "Okay."
He hops up there without hesitation. As he is a great patient and is very into what they are doing. He is defiantly his father's son! As the nurse is telling him what he is about to do and how he is going to do it. T stops him and says this...
T-"Hey...I need to tell you something."
N-"Okay buddy go ahead."
T-" Did you know all girls have snakes in their heads?!
N-" NO"
T- "Yea...some are poisonous and some aren't. It's your job to figure out which are poisonous and which aren't!"

At this point all male nurses in the area erupt in laughter. Then go on to tell him he is a very smart boy! These are the things your son learns when he hangs out with the firemen!

So T is finished getting all 8 stitches out. Eating a Popsicle and hopping off the table to leave. Nurse tells him how awesome he did and gives him 4 stickers. How he wishes all kids were as good as he was. As we walk out the door nurse says...alright dude see you later. In which T responds with...Okay! I probably won't be back for a while!

Well T lets hope not!

Here is a picture of T's battle wound.
Sorry it's pretty graphic.

As he told the nurse today...he was just being a boy.
Climbing on the ice chest to turn on the light in the kitchen.
He slipped off falling onto my metal advent calendar that was sitting on the floor.
The metal corner was much sharper than I knew.

So we took a little trip to Cook's and fixed him right up.

Thank goodness my little darling is just fine!

Did I mention I'm blogging this from my bed on my new Mac I got for Christmas?!?!
Ehhhhhh...I'm totally loving it!
Thank you babe!
